How to send Publisher files

The following guidelines are intended to assist you in submitting Microsoft Publisher files in a manner that will make your files completely press-ready. If corrections or modifications are required, your order may be delayed pending clarification or approval, and if necessary, extra charges may be assessed. If there is something that is not addressed or is not clear to you, please do not hesitate to contact us for clarification and additional information.

For documents created in Microsoft Publisher, we recommend utilizing the feature “Pack and Go”. The ‘Pack and Go’ feature in Microsoft Publisher will gather your file, all graphics/images that have been placed in your document, and embed all necessary fonts so your document may be shared on another system. It compresses all items together into a single packed file that can be expanded by someone on another system that also utilizes Publisher. If you use a Server to store images, fonts, etc., you must be connected to the Server in order for this feature to gather all linked items/fonts used by your document. It cannot find images that you have linked to your document that are stored elsewhere on the internet – at another website for example. Those images must be available on your server on workstation to be collected and packed.

To do a ‘Pack and Go’, open the Publisher File, under the FILE MENU, select PACK AND GO, and then click TAKE TO COMMERCIAL PRINTING SERVICE.

The ‘Pack and Go’ wizard will take you through each step of the packing process.

DO include all fonts and graphics.


Microsoft Publisher 2007 and 2010 will create a zip file using your file name. "Your file" (NOT a “packed01” file)

To access the "PACK and GO" feature in Publisher 2010, Go to FILE, Select SAVE & SEND; Select SAVE FOR A COMMERCIAL PRINTER, Select COMMERCIAL PRESS, then click the "PACK and GO" Wizard button.
